A molecularly imprinted polymer layer on a nanostructured electrode, with lenvatinib molecules settling into shape-matched cavities and a rising electrochemical signal

We are pleased to share our new paper in Electrochimica Acta (Volume 582, 2027, article 150278): “A 3D MoB MBene-integrated molecularly imprinted polymer sensor for advanced lenvatinib detection”.

What the study is about

Lenvatinib is an oral multi-kinase inhibitor used in the treatment of several cancers, including thyroid, liver and kidney cancers. In this work, a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) – a synthetic recognition layer with cavities shaped to fit the target molecule – was combined with a three-dimensional MoB MBene, a member of the family of two-dimensional transition metal borides, to build an electrochemical sensor for lenvatinib.

The study builds on our earlier MoB MBene-enhanced MIP platform for the anticancer drug cabozantinib, also published in Electrochimica Acta.
